Artist's credit/agency stamp on verso; titled in French in unknown hand on verso.Provenance: from the estate of Georges Garcin. Garcin (French, born in Morocco, died 1995), who was a well-known fashion photographer in the 1950s and 1960s who worked principally for Harper's Bazaar in London and Jour de France in Paris. In the course of his lengthy career, he broadly collected the works of contemporaries that he admired. Much of his photographic collection was dispersed at Paris auction (Piasa, 9 May 2007); the iconic Cartier-Bresson Banks of the Marne from Garcin's estate was auctioned by Christie's King Street in May 2008. © Henri Cartier-Bresson/Magnum Photos.
