Titled and signed by artist in pencil on mount verso.Seed was born in London, May 27, 1929. He was a LIFE Contract and freelance photographer for 30 years beginning in 1955 contributing to LIFE, TIME, and Sports Illustrated magazines & Time Life Books. Prior to that, he was first an office boy at 16, then a photographer's assistant at the London bureau of Time Inc. from 1946 to 1954.He later was the Co-founder, President and then a director of Click/Chicago, a stock and assignment photo agency, now a part of Getty Images. He has written about the stock photography business and has taught photography at the Guildford School of Art (UK) and at Columbia College, Chicago. He was also the creator of the film, River Shannon in 1971.Currently he is a consultant to stock photo agencies and photographers, but spends most of the time editing, scanning, and captioning his photographs taken over the years which include photographs of musicians, artists, writers and politicians, as well as coverage of 13 African countries, Stage and Screen and more.
