The Photo Review, a critical journal of photography founded in 1976, will celebrate its 48th anniversary with its Annual Benefit Auction on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the Moore College of Art & Design, 1916 Race St., Philadelphia, PA. The auction will offer a large array of photographs from the 19th century to the present.

A preview will be held at Moore on Friday, October 25, 12–5 p.m., and Saturday, October 26, 11–4 p.m. There will be a reception on Saturday from 3–4 p.m. honoring the winner of The Photo Review Award for 2024, Alex Novak, in recognition of his E-Photo Newsletter and his generous support of various museums and nonprofit institutions.

Buyers can preview the auction online and place bids at https://photoreview.org/events/2024-benefit-auction. Once again The Photo Review will offer its "End This Auction" feature. Bid the high estimate on any unsold lot by 6 pm EST on October 25th by emailing auction@photoreview.org, faxing 1-215-891-9358, or calling 1-215-891-0214 and your bid will be considered the winning bid and the work will be withdrawn from the auction.

The event will feature an international slate of photographers, as well as a host of Philadelphia artists.

According to Photo Review editor Stephen Perloff, prices will range from $25 to $10,000. More than 225 photographs by an international slate of photographers will be included in the benefit auction.

Proceeds from the auction, a popular event since 1981, fund such activities as an annual juried competition for emerging photographers.
